I ordered myself a PS2 Dance mat from a local site here in South Africa. There are no USB mats, or even PS2 to USB converters that are available here. Maybe from the back-alley flea markets, but from what I've heard, a lot of those converters are dodgy (I.E. Not supporting multiple button presses, etc etc)
So, I decided to make a PS2 to Parrallel converter. It's not hard to do, very simple actually, and it's a project that I want to do. Why? Because I love playing DDR!
I've got myself set up with StepMania 3.9, latest release... and I'm going to be downloading all the tracks I can find (And I know where 95% of the originals actually are, GB's worth...)
Couple that with my computer systems Audigy 2, linked to my Hifi system, my 21" Monitor and the new dancing mat. I think that should be sufficient to get a little bit of practice in. I may even mod the mat, depends on how I get along with it. I know all about the problems with mats, etc etc... but hey, it's better than not having one.
Oh yeah, got myself some new glasses.
